ABSTRACT

As big data and artificial intelligence continue to become more prevalent in a wide variety of scientific fields, they have provided insights that were largely unattainable using conventional methods. For research within the automotive industry, this has been especially revealing, as applications from remote sensing for autonomous cars to deep learning for energy use optimization have been deployed in the real world. In this special session, we facilitate a discussion regarding this very important new developing trend within the field and speculate about its future applications for social and humanitarian good.
